KOSOVO LEARNING SUMMIT 2018 CONCLUDES
The two day professional development conference “Kosovo Learning Summit” concluded today at the American School of Kosova. Around 200 educators from Kosovo’s schools had the opportunity to attend inspirational speeches, presentations and workshops with keynotes from all around the world.
Distributive Leadership is crucial for a positive and a sustainable change in schools. This was one of the messages drawn on the second day of the Kosovo Learning Summit 2018, organized by the American School of Kosova.
Robyn Hansen, one of the summit’s keynotes, highly evaluated the role of the collective work, working together, motivating each other, and building capacity of our students and entire community. The implementation of the Distributive Leadership model, will have a huge impact on our schools culture. In one of the workshops, educators together with Ms. Hansen had the opportunity to draft a preliminary Distributive Leadership Plan, and were encouraged to share it with other colleagues and work towards its implementation.
Some other topics tackled during this two-day summit included: Adapting to change, integrating technology, raising awareness against bullying, instilling the habit of questioning in students. In addition, there were 19 workshops delivered on current topics affecting teachers and students, aiming at developing a growth mindset in teachers, which would allow make a change together with students.
The Summit brought together passionate educators from around the world, to network, discuss, and share ideas and best practices in teaching and learning with Kosovar educators from all around Kosovo.
The Kosovo Learning Summit is a two-day professional development event initiated by the American School of Kosova in 2o17 with the objective of offering an international conference to all educators in Kosovo and an opportunity for teachers in public and private schools to learn together, learn from each other, and to collaborate. Kosovo Learning Summit 2018 is supported by the Ministry of Education Science and Technology, American Embassy in Prishtina, and Swiss Diamond Prishtina.
