Welcome from the Head of School

Welcome to the American School of Kosova website or, ASK, as we have been known since our beginning in 2003. ASK offers an American based curriculum, which consists of English, Science, Social Studies Albanian History, U.S History, World History, U.S Government), Math, and a variety of electives (fine art, film and drama, and music for k-8). We believe that the presentation of curriculum should be engaging to our students and inspire authentic learning and this means that, as we make sure it has a foundational thread of skill building and content, it will also evolve to meet the changing needs of our students.

We strive to “educate the leaders of tomorrow” by building personal relationships with each student, and providing clear, respectful, and consistent communication in everything we do. With monthly community events, service projects, annual field trips, and a professional college guidance center, we aim to bring the voice of our students and faculty in touch with the larger community as well.

Our total student body consists of 455 students and is comprised of thirty-four (34) different nationalities. Most of our graduates seek careers in business and have earned impressive academic scholarships to many distinguished colleges in the U.S.

We hope that you will take the time to get to know us a little more by looking through our website and welcome any questions or comments you have.
As a growing school we are feeling the pressure to build a new purpose-built facility and are excited about how we will be able to continue to build our academic program in the future. In the meantime we thank everyone for your patience and support as we strive to engage students in a quality education that will open doors of opportunity for everyone.

With warm regards,
Shannon Bruce Ramaka
